Over the weekend I finally got to meet my second nephew, Traxten Lane. I love him so much. Clinton and I got to spend some time with my sister and two of my nieces and Traxten. Then we visited Katie, Seth, babya Cambria and KP at Katie and Seth's and stayed for an unexpected deliciou BBQ (I had some pretty slammin' potatoes). I also got to meet my someday VW van. Cannot wait.

05.20.12 CHRIS CORNELL - Setlist
Clinton and I have been in Nashville for our rescheduled Chris Cornell show. Beyond words amazing. We promised ourselves we would keep track of the setlist but we couldn't have out phones out at all (always carry a pen). I did okay at remembering the songs in order until my brain got Chris Cornell'd and stopped working. So I don't really remember all of the order, but these are definitely all the songs he played. Such a beautiful awesome experience.
Scar on the Sky
As Hope and Promise Fade
Ground Zero
Wide Awake
Can't Change Me
Sweet Euphoria
Wooden Jesus
All Night Thing
Hunger Strike (some guy ran up to stage and begged to sing it with him. Chris let him, after telling him not to try and sound like Eddie Vedder. The guy didn't listen to that part... And it wasn't a good Eddie impression)
Sunshower
...After that we couldn't remember the order, but we tried...
Burden in My Han
Head Down (just a guitar part for a second... It counts)
Mind Riot
Fell on Black Day
When I'm Dow
Dandelion
Say Hello 2 Heaven
Thank You (Led Zeppelin cover)
Seasons
Like a Stone
Doesn't Remind Me
Blow up the Outside World (this was for sure the last of the set)
Encore (pretty sure the order is right):
I am the Highway
Black Hole Sun
The Keeper
Day in the Life (Beatles cover)
Imagine (John Lennon cover)
Scar on the Sky
As Hope and Promise Fade
Ground Zero
Wide Awake
Can't Change Me

05.05.12; BERLIN DROP (Or, How I Spent My Cino de Mayo), Part II
I am pretty far from done with all of the pictures from the show (I've only made it through about half of them), but I wanted to post some of what I do have done now. I'll have everything on my Flickr once they're done. I also usually post things on my Facebook page first.
My favorite picture from the entire night. My oldest niece enjoying the show. I'm so proud.

05.05.12; BERLIN DROP (Or, How I Spent My Cinco de Mayo), Part I
Most of you who read this will probably know about Berlin Drop. But if you don't you can click the link (MySpace, lolz). I will brief you: Berlin Drop is a band I met in 2004 (when I was 14), and was totally the number one fan until their last show in (I think) 2009. The band consisted mostly of Aaron, Nathan, Zac and Clinton (with appearances by Tyler and Mike, among others). So there's your character list. Saturday they played a reunion show, which, if you were involved in the "scene", was a pretty big freaking deal.
I try not to waste space here with words, but I feel like this is appropriate. And maybe it won't be that interesting to you, but this is what the band meant to me personally. I will try to keep it short.
I met and became aware of Berlin Drop the summer before my freshman year of high school. I became legitimate friends with Aaron through Chenoa, and we all hung out pretty much all the time (Chenoa, Katie and I might have had a band with Aaron's help, maybe). Becoming a giant Berlin Drop fan happened pretty quickly. I was basically Knives Chau...
It's hard to try and talk about it without sounding crazy, but it was some of the best times in my life. My weekends were always spent at shows. Suddenly I was a 14/15 year old staying out until 3AM, going to shows at bars that I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to be in, but I felt pretty cool for it. I had a circle of people that I felt like I fit in with, and these talented people that I honestly usually felt a little intimidated by seemed like they actually wanted to hang out with me. It could have been that they felt like they had to, but oh well. I met some of the best people I have ever met through this band, and I feel like I wouldn't have turned out the way I did if it wasn't for spending my time with these people. I still remember the first show I missed.
For the sake of honesty, this band created some of the best and worst for me. But somehow the worst times don't seem to matter much now. I'm just thankful I got to be a part of it. It almost seems like a different life now, because it all started so long ago. I have more stories than I could ever remember to tell all at once from the millions (approximately) of shows I attended. And I feel so incredibly blessed that I am still friends with most of the people I met through those shows. Most importantly to me, I wouldn't have ever met Clinton if it weren't for Berlin Drop. And that's kind of crazy. Going to all of these shows inspired me to become a better photographer by loving concert photography. I saw the way they loved music and it was so awesome to be able to watch some of the best music I've heard be created.
It's strange to try to put into words and to try and honestly think about how much impact a band had on your life, good and bad. But I'm thankful. And it was so great to be able to see them play one last time.
Aaron, Nathan, Zac... I considered you all my best friends at some point. And you guys made me feel like I was pretty cool for being a girl that mostly just followed you around. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
I will have pictures up later today, hopefully. It's taken way too long for them to upload onto my computer. So Part II will have far fewer less words.

Meet girl through a small town local music circle>have a tiny girlcrush on her and try to subtly creep on her through the internet until she thinks you're cool>convince her to model for you>repeat steps one and two for three years>make her model for you in the woods in the wet and cold. Recipe for this shoot.
Brooke is awesome. And can do crazy things with her arms.
